Explore historic Main Street
When Springboro was settled by Quakers in the early 1800s, those early residents built many of the buildings still remaining on S. Main Street. Today those original homes have been converted into quaint shops with a charm all their own. Antiques, candles, art glass, seasonal decorations, children's and women's clothing, antique lamps, musical instruments, home decorations and gifts of all varieties are to be found in Springboro's Historic District. After browsing Main Street, you'll want to stop in at the Brass Pig Tearoom for lunch or a snack. Pick up a walking tour informational flyer at the Springboro Chamber of Commerce, 325 S. Main St.
Springboro Historical Society Museum
110 S. Main Street
The museum, staffed by volunteers, is open Tuesday, Friday & Saturday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Guided Tours
Guided Underground Railroad tours are available to groups of 10 or more by appointment only. Costumed interpreters welcome your group to the museum and then guide you through the town. Call the Springboro Historical Museum to schedule a tour.
Wright "B" Flyer
You'll find a flying history lesson when you visit the museum at Wright Brothers Airport, 10550 Springboro Pike (St. Rt. 741) at the northern edge of Springboro. The replica of the Wright "B" Flyer, the first mass-produced airplane in the world, is available for actual flights, weather permitting. Other aviation exhibits, a 1916 Model "T" staff car and a gift shop are also part of the museum. Free admission.
